A circle of light,
So round and perfect,
So rough on the surface.

It’s the moon I say,
“La Luna” I yelled,
The clock struck tweleve,
Then went the sound of the bell.

I woke up with fright,
On a soundless night,
I looked at the window and saw the moon,
The sun will be arising quick and soon.

La Luna, my perfect nightlight that I sleep to at night.
To see the full moon gave me a startling fright.
A howl to the moon the animals gave,
At 2 in the morning they were back in their caves.

At 6 in the morning the moon was gone,
Which ended my dream of this beautiful song.
Tonight it will be back in the sky,
So I can dream about the moon smoke again.
